Elements of Action in Collaboration with Brookfield Farm and John Gerrard, funded by Creative Ireland

This was both a commission and community project. The team designed and built three 3 meter Elm tables tops on steel frames to act as the physical meeting point for 12 workshops on food and agriculture.

Seen below are the tables and a screen presenting a recent project by John Gerrard called Cork Work (Corrib) where four local folk figures, the Straw Boys, perform a symbolic wheel of production. This was presented upon a sculptural Exchange.

The community piece was hosting pilot workshops, on wreath making relating to crops & creativity in conjunction with local artist Geraldine Wisdom Reed Maker. Every week for 12 weeks, Brookfield Farm hosted events to exchange expertise in various aspects of agriculture, facilitated by NOTS.ie (Organic Agriculture Training).

Field Exchange is recipient of the inaugural Creative Climate Action Fund, an initiative by Creative Ireland in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications that supports creative, cultural and artistic projects that build awareness around climate change and empower citizens to make meaningful behavioural transformations.
